Vision is one of the secrets of personal transformation. We are all artists, our mind is the arena of creation and vision is what we are constantly creating.
As the Autumn / Winter months are the perfect time to vision and dream – to plant seed ideas and intentions for the coming Spring – turn your vision into a strong Sankalpa (heartfelt desire)
A Sankalpa (heartfelt desire) is a chosen resolution that has the potential to transform your life by clearly defining and focusing on a chosen goal. It takes the form of a short phrase or sentence, clearly and concisely expressed and its effect is to awaken willpower within by uniting conscious awareness with the unconscious forces lying dormant.
- Sankalpa is not only a thought – it is a power, a force……
- Sankalpa is not just a wish, it is a conviction……
- Sankalpa is trust and faith in your own strength and courage – I will become that……
Mould your dreams and visions into a positive and powerful statement of how you intend YOUR life to be and step with faith and courage right into it!
Listen In Today!
Only when we find the quietness in our own minds can we begin to hear our inner teacher, so that we may receive some in-tuition. Only when we are ready to recognise and value the wisdom that we carry at the core of our being will we turn our attention inwards and ‘listen in’. But it’s been a long time since we truly listened, so a little practice and patience will be needed. Sit down, be quiet and listen in at some point today and you might be surprised at what you hear. Then do it again tomorrow. All you need to do is remember that you are the listener and not the noise.
Seeds of the future
Ignorance makes us believe that life functions haphazardly. Wisdom teaches you that everything that happens in this theatre of life has profound significance. What we see today is not the fruit of chance but a fruit from seeds planted in the past. Plant seeds of peace now and you will create a life of peace in the future…
Let the inner light shine and magnify your hearts deepest desire – empowering you…
Igniting the fire your heart knows what you long for – it knows what you need – have courage – be brave – plant your dream seed – water your wishes and TRULY believe – patiently allow and gratefully receive
Crafting your Sankalpa/Heartfelt Desire
Richard Miller says “Your Heartfelt Desire is a phrase that expresses your deepest heartfelt wish for health, wholeness, vitality, happiness and well being. Feel into what it is you wish for more than anything else in life, or the reason you get our of bed in the morning. Your Heartfelt Desire is a way of remembering why you are here and what it is that you wish to achieve in life.
Each time you repeat your Heartfelt Desire, you are planting a seed deep within that will work to bring about the change you wish to see in your life. Choose words that inspire you and accurately state you desire.
- Keep your words positive
- Be concise and specific
- Phrase your heartfelt desire in the present tense as if it were already true!
Stating your Heartfelt Desire in the present tense acknowledges the tremendous will, energy, and truth that arrive with the discovery of your heartfelt desire. It also acknowledges you already possess the qualities that you are calling in” ….
A few examples
- I am whole, healed and healthy
- I am at peace with myself and the world
- I am compassionate loving and kind
The Key to Fulfilling your Highest Intention
Rod Stryker clarifies this further – he says “When you first begin to work with your heartfelt desire, the practice can seem full of contradictions. You start by identifying what you want, but the only way to realize it is to acknowledge that you already are it, and already have it. You set specific goals, and you commit to breaking habits. But at every opportunity to act in line with these goals, you must first acknowledge that you are already perfect and whole”.
According to him, this apparent contradiction is the essence of both Sankalpa practice and nondual teachings.
- It all goes back to this idea that each of us is both being and becoming.
- There’s the part of us, Para Atman, (pure soul consciousness, beyond limitation, changeless) that is transcendent, inherently one, and doesn’t need anything.
- We also have a Jiva Atman, (Individual soul, your unique spiritual thumb print) that part of us that comes into life with a purpose and a destiny and is always becoming.
- Stryker explains that to fulfill your highest intention, you must find a way to integrate these two seemingly opposite aspects of being.
It’s vital for happiness that you walk both paths simultaneously. Direct your energy with intention, but be mindful that your nature is unchanged whether you achieve your goals or not. Live as contentedly as possible in between the goal and realizing the goal.
Create the Future that you Wish for
If you have never worked in this way before or even asked your self what your heartfelt desire or higher intention might be then take yourself to a place where you will not be disturbed – get comfortable and spend some moments in stillness and simply begin to seed the question. Ask yourself what qualities are important to you and will make your life into the best version you can imagine. Have a piece of paper and a pen to hand . Let the question drop into your open and curious mind and invite positive statements to appear – write down whatever positive qualities manifest – it doesn’t need to make sense to begin with – simply trust the messengers and get scribbling. You can always draw the words or phrases into a cohesive, short, powerful statement once the process is finished.
Once you have your heartfelt desire or even if it is still formulating then listen to this short meditation to try it on for size and truly begin to feel if it fits – enjoy!
